Types categorize records within a UTA/module, while statuses represent the stages a record moves through and can be color-coded for quick identification in list views. Statuses can be made available to all types or limited to a specific type.

When to Configure UTA/Module Types and Statuses
Configure UTA/module types and statuses when:
- A UTA/module has been created, and the items being tracked fall into distinct categories.
- Different categories of Level 1 items require different fields, statuses, or workflows.
- Status colors are needed to make record states easy to identify in list views.
Prerequisite
The UTA/module must already exist. For more information, see Create a UTA/Module.
Create a Type
Types categorize your Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 items.
To create a type:
- Click the Menu icon in the upper navigation bar, and then select the relevant UTA/module from the Applications drop-down menu.
- Click the Configuration Settings gear.
- Click the Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 tab.
- Locate the General Settings section and click Types.
- Click the New Type [+] icon.
- Click the Name field and enter the applicable information.
- Click the Caption field and enter the applicable information.
- Add any remaining applicable information, and then click Save.
Create a Status
Statuses represent stages in a process. A status can be created that is available to all types, or only available to a specific type.
Create a Status Available to All Types
To create a status that is available to all types:
- Click the Menu icon in the upper navigation bar, and then select the relevant UTA/module from the Applications drop-down menu.
- Click the Configuration Settings gear.
- Click the Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 tab.
- Locate the General Settings section and click Statuses.
- Click the New Status [+] button.
- Click the Name field and enter the applicable information.
- Click the Caption field and enter the applicable information.
- Click the Color Code field and enter the applicable information.
- Toggle Is Default Status on so all new records start at this status.
- Add any remaining applicable information, and then click Save.
- Click the Permissions & Availability tab.
- Locate the Availability section, click the Enabled on Application Types field, and then select the applicable option.
- Add any remaining applicable information, and then click Save.
Create a Type-Specific Status
To create a status that only applies to certain types:
- Click the Menu icon in the upper navigation bar, and then select the relevant UTA/module from the Applications drop-down menu.
- Click the Configuration Settings gear.
- Click the Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 tab.
- Locate the General Settings section and click Statuses.
- Click the New Status [+] button.
- Click the Name field and enter the applicable information.
- Click the Caption field and enter the applicable information.
- Click the Color Code field and enter the applicable information.
- Add any remaining applicable information, and then click Save.
- Click the Permissions & Availability tab.
- Locate the Availability section, click the Enabled on Application Types field, and then select the applicable types.
NOTE Assigning a color to each status allows users to quickly identify record states at a glance in list views.
