Overview
This feature enables access to the system as a secondary user without requiring the entry of credentials for that user.
The primary user has the capability to view the secondary user's portal and can modify information on their behalf.
This feature facilitates staff in logging in as clients or applicants and making necessary edits on their behalf.
The option to emulate a user is exclusively available if the secondary user is a basic user. This option is not available if the secondary user is a global admin.
To simultaneously test multiple roles, it is necessary to utilize different browsers (e.g., System Administrator in Chrome, Applicant in Firefox, etc.)
- The system will support the latest versions of browsers, as well as certain versions preceding the most recent update.
- User browser information can always be viewed in the user's profile, under Options – Login Details. This does not reveal a password, but rather the browser utilized for login for troubleshooting purposes.
Enabling Emulation Mode
1. Navigate to System Feature Permissions
System Administration (gear icon) >> Global Settings >> Security (tab) >> System Feature Permissions >> Features (tab)
2. Click Lookup next to the relevant Emulation Mode settings and select the appropriate roles for the settings. There are two settings as follows:
- Enable Emulation Mode - View & Edit - grants access to the Emulation Mode functionality, including the ability to make edits while emulating another user.
- Enable Emulation Mode - View Only - grants access to the Emulation Mode functionality, without the capability to make edits while emulating another user. NOTE - If an individual is listed in both "Enable Emulation Mode - View Only" and "Enable Emulation Mode - View & Edit" role lists, they will only have viewing privileges.
3. Click the Save button.
