Content Management creates content-based portals. Alternate Login Pages and variables within Content Management control custom login pages and the content that displays on them.
Content Management is also possible on the Alternate tab when configuring Login Pages. See Login Pages Overview for more information.
Content Management
This syntax expires a session and is usually embedded in a logout page:
[#ssupdate @session.expire@#]
Alternate Login Pages
Alternate Login Pages allows the creation of custom login pages. This includes multiple custom login pages for various groups of users within the same system.
Virtual Alias
Within Alternate Login Pages, there is the option to configure a Virtual Alias. This Virtual Alias masks the instance URL and will only function when used in combination with the virtual folder.
Example
The Virtual Alias gms masks the instance alias grants, and both URLs open the same login page.
grants.smartsimple.com/welcome/MyFolder/ gms.smartsimple.com/welcome/MyFolder/
Example
When using a Virtual Alias, append ?u=1 to the end of the URL.
gms.smartsimple.com/welcome/MyFolder/?u=1
Virtual Alias for a Custom Login Page
When using Content Management for a separate login page with a Virtual Alias, add the origin URL on the page to ensure users who log in from this page return to the same page after logging out. This must be added within the <form> tags, preferably after <form method="POST">.
The input uses this structure:
<input type="hidden" name="origin" value="url" />
Example
This input returns users to the MyFolder login page after they log out.
<form method="POST"> <input type="hidden" name="origin" value="/welcome/MyFolder/?u=1" />
Variables
Use the <!--VP--> directive for content that must be processed by the variable processor.
To reference the Content Management page the user logged into the instance with, use @cmpageid@, which returns the unique ID.
This can control what content displays to the user, such as a logo, by numbering the content to match the unique ID.
Example
This file name displays a different logo for each Content Management page by using the page ID.
logo@cmpageid@.jpg
