Display settings control the arrangement of custom fields on a record page.

Display Settings
The following settings are available when creating or editing a custom field. Configure Custom Fields and Record Layout provides more information on configuring custom fields. All settings are optional.
| Setting | Description |

| Caption Location | Controls where the field label appears relative to the input: Left of Field, Above Field, No Caption, or Hide Caption. |
| Instructions | Text that provides guidance on how the user should enter data into the field. |
| Placeholder Text | Greyed-out text that pre-populates the input field. Useful for showing examples or the expected input format. Disappears when the user starts typing. |
| Tool Tip | Displays a special icon next to the caption. When the user hovers over the icon, additional text appears to provide more information or help about the field. |
| Width | Sets the total width of the field. Select from the available dropdown options. This is not available on every field type. |
| Height | Sets the total height of the field in percentage or pixel format. |
