This article lists the fields, Boolean operators, comparison operators, and date operators available in the Advanced Search panel.

Search Fields

Each row in the Advanced Search panel contains five fields:

Operators — Boolean operators that connect multiple search rows. See the Boolean Operators table below.
Field Type — The category of fields to search. Options include Common Fields (shared across all records of an entity type), type-specific fields, and fields from related objects such as linked organizations, branches, or contacts. UTA/module searches also include parent record fields.
Fields — The specific field to search, based on the selected Field Type.
Comparison Operators — Operators that match the selected field against the search term. Options vary by field type. See the tables below.
Search Term — The value to search. For fields with predefined options (such as a Select One combo box), a list of available values appears for selection.

Operator	Description
(	Opens a grouping. Results must meet all conditions in the group. Available in the first row only.
(NOT	Opens a negated grouping. Results must not meet the conditions in the group. Available in the first row only.
AND	Results must meet conditions in both the current and preceding row.
OR	Results may meet conditions in either the current or preceding row.
AND NOT	Results must not meet conditions in the current row, and the preceding condition must also apply.
OR NOT	Results must not meet conditions in the current row, or the preceding condition must apply.
) AND (	Results must meet conditions in both bracketed groups.
) OR (	Results must meet conditions in either bracketed group.
) AND (NOT	Results must meet conditions in the preceding group and not those in the following group.
) OR (NOT	Results must meet conditions in the preceding group or not those in the following group.

NOTE A closing parenthesis ) is automatically added after the last row.

Operator	Returns
Contains	Records with text anywhere in the field matching the search term.
Matches	Records where the field exactly matches the search term.
Starts With	Records where the field begins with the search term.
Ends With	Records where the field ends with the search term.
Multiple	Records where the field exactly matches any value in a semicolon-separated list.
Is Empty	Records with no value in the field.

NOTE Comparison operators vary by field type. Numeric fields include operators such as Equals, Greater Than, and Less Than.

Operator	Returns
On	Records with a date exactly matching the search term.
On or Before	Records with a date matching or before the search term.
On or After	Records with a date matching or after the search term.
Is Empty	Records with no date value in the field.
Last Year	Records with a date from the previous year.
This Year	Records with a date from the current year.
This Month	Records with a date from the current month.
Last Month	Records with a date from the previous month.
Within the Next X Days	Records with a date within the specified number of days from today.
Within the Past X Days	Records with a date within the specified number of days before today.
X Days Before Today	Records with a date exactly the specified number of days before today.
X Days After Today	Records with a date exactly the specified number of days after today.

NOTE For operators using a variable number (X days), enter the value in the Value field next to the date field.
